abstract |
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of acylferrocenes comprising the steps of reacting a ferrocene with an acid anhydride acylating agent, having C2 to C7 carbon atoms, in the presence of a montmorillonite or metal ion exchanged K10 montmorillonites clay catalyst, in a solvent, at a temperature in the range of about 80 to 165 deg celcius for a period of 3 to 8 hrs and recovering the acylferrocenes by conventional methods. |
