abstract | Many curable compositions comprising as a curing ingredient a vinyl polymer having at least one crosslinkable functional group contain general-purpose heavy calcium carbonate having a specific surface area of about 1 m2/g. These compositions however have problems that it is difficult to obtain therefrom a cured object having a high elongation and that they are insufficient in adhesion to unprimed surfaces and in weathering adhesion. A curable composition which comprises (I) a vinyl polymer having at least one crosslinkable functional group and (II) heavy calcium carbonate having a specific surface area of 1.5 to 50 m2/g is improved in viscosity ratio and spatula cuttability, gives a cured object improved in breaking strength and elongation at break, and is improved in adhesion to various adherends and weathering adhesion. |
