A stabilized conjugated peptide complex comprising a peptidenconjugatively coupled to a polymer including lipophilic andnhydrophilic moieties, wherein the peptide may be insulin,ncalcitonin, or an enzyme. In a particular aspect, theninvention comprises an insulin composition suitable fornparenteral, as well as non-parenteral administration,ncomprising insulin covalently coupled with a polymernincluding a linear polyalkylene glycol moiety and anlipophilic moiety, wherein the insulin, the linearnpolyalkylene glycol moiety and the lipophilic moiety arenconformationally arranged in relation to one another suchnthat the insulin in the composition has an enhanced in vivo nresistance to enzymatic degradation, relative to insulinnalone. The conjugates of the invention are usefullynemployed in therapeutic as well as non-therapeutic, orndiagnostic, applications as shown in the figure. |
