abstract | An adhesive composition which comprises (a) a polymerizable monomer having an acid group, (b) a polymerizable monomer represented by general formula (I) [wherein R1 represents hydrogen or methyl; R2 represents halogeno, hydroxy, mercapto, amino, or a group represented by -O-R?3-OH (R3¿ represents C¿6-25? alkylene); and Y represents oxygen or sulfur], and (c) a hydrophilic polymerizable monomer and in which the ratio of the amount of the polymerizable monomer (b) to that of the polymerizable monomer having an acid group (a) is from 0.001 to 0.5 by weight. The adhesive composition is suitable for use in bonding a hard tissue to a resin material in the medical and dental fields. |
