abstract The invention relates to a method of stabilizing a hydrophobin-containing solution. According to the present invention, the hydrophobin is subjected to a treatment with a disulphide bridge-cleaving agent to yield unfolded hydrophobin, said treatment involving the prevention of the formation of disulphide bridges from cleaved disulphide bridges. The invention also relates to a method for coating a surface with a stabilized hydrophobin according to the present invention.
