titleOfInvention Method for the mechanical milking of animals
abstract The invention relates to a method for the mechanical milking of animals, in which the milk is withdrawn according to the vacuum milking principle. The invention aims to provide a method which permits an optimal stimulation of the animal to be milked and simultaneously prevents a break in the milk curve at the beginning of the primary milking phase and the associated climbing action of the milking cup on the teat. According to the invention, milk is withdrawn not only during the primary milking phase and during a subsequent stripping phase, but also during a stimulation phase which precedes the primary milking phase, albeit in significantly smaller quantities. During the greater part of said stimulation phase, the number of pulses per minute is continuously or periodically increased to at least double that of the normal number of pulses that is applied during the primary and/or stripping phase and the maximum duration of the suction phase within a pulse is limited to a third of the entire duration of the pulse.
