abstract |
Agents for treating and preventing nervous system disorders comprises a substance that promotes calcium ion incorporation in myocardial sarcoplasmic reticulum and/or inhibits excessive intracellular calcium ion accumulation. ACTIVITY : Vasotropic; cerebroprotective; hemostatic; antiarteriosclerotic; nootropic; neuroprotective; antiparkinsonian; antiinflammatory. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Calcium agonist; Calcium antagonist; ATPase inhibitor. 5-n-Propyl-2-[4-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-1-piperazinyl]benzenesulfonic acid (Ia) at 0.001 M inhibited 52.4% of isoproternol induced calcium pumping in isolated Hartley guinea pig myocardial sarcoplasmic reticulum. |
