abstract |
The present invention provides an industrially advantageous processnfor producing a hydrogenated polymer comprising subjecting a polymernhaving an olefinic carbon-carbon double bond and hydroxy group and/orna functional group which is convertible into hydroxy group or convertibleninto hydroxymethyl group to hydrogenation under the presence ofnpalladium on a basic activated carbon and/or platinum on a basicnactivated carbon. The process of the present invention can produce anhydrogenated polymer having hydroxy group and/or a functional groupnwhich is convertible into hydroxy group or convertible intonhydroxymethyl group with high retention of a functional group and cannachieve a high hydrogenation ratio together with good hydrogenationnrate. |
