titleOfInvention CATALYST COMPONENT FOR OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION
abstract A component of a catalyst for olefin polymerization comprising an ion-exchangable phyllosilicate having the following [characteristic 1] and [characteristic 2]: [characteristic 1] 60 to 200 Å in terms of the pore diameter Dm showing the maximum peak intensity DVM in a pore diameter distribution curve, as calculated from a desorption isotherm by the nitrogen adsorption-desorption method, and [characteristic 2] 0.65 or more and less than 1 in terms of Dm1/2/Dm , wherein Dm1/2 (Å) is the smaller side pore diameter corresponding to the point having a peak intensity being 1/2 of the maximum peak intensity DVM, in a pore diameter distribution curve as calculated from a desorption isotherm by the nitrogen adsorption-desorption method, with the proviso that when a plurality of values are present for Dm1/2, the largest value is employed.
