Antiperspirant formulations |
abstract |
Structured antiperspirant emulsion formulations forntopical application to human skin in a cosmetic methodnfor controlling sweat and body odour generationncomprising an hydrophilic phase containing an aluminiumnand/or zirconium astringent salt dispersed in anstructured continuous oil phase can suffer from problemsnof impaired sensory properties and impaired efficacyn(sweat reduction). n Such problems are ameliorated or overcome in structurednantiperspirant emulsions in whichn i) the hydrophilic phase comprises from 25 to 55%nby weight of the emulsion; ii) the hydrophilic phase contains from 0 to notnmore than 15% polyhydric alcohol by weight ofnthe emulsion; iii) the emulsifier comprises an alkyl dimethiconencopolyol; iv) the weight ratio of the hydrophilic phase tonthe emulsifier is selected in the range ofnfrom at least 60:1 v) the structurant comprises an acylated sugarnand vi) the water-immiscible oil and the structurantnare present in a weight ratio of from 1.5:1 ton8.5:1. |
