A lingual bracket for orthodontic treatments in the anterior and canine region has a slot which is directed parallel to the base plate of the bracket and which is directed such that the slot opening points into the chewing plane. Preferably, the slot has a depth that is less than its width. As an organ for securing a straightening wire in the slot, it is preferably covered by a closing spring, which is held stable in the open and closed positions on the bracket structure. A straightening wire inserted into the slot is pressed by the closing spring against the slot base and also acts directly on at least one side slot wall and generates the forces required for the position correction of the tooth on the bracket. The use of locking lugs for the closing spring can be dispensed with, which reduces the height of the bracket. <IMAGE> <IMAGE> |
