titleOfInvention Reagent for fluorinating plastics
abstract The fluorinating reagent is preferably a gas mixture containing fluorine and carbon dioxide and preferably an inert gas. The fluorinating regent is especially suited for fluorinating plastic add-on pieces having portions that are made of polyacetal, polyamide or of glass fiber reinforced plastic. The fluorinating reagent is used in a method for fluorinating surfaces of plastics during which the surfaces of the plastics are brought into contact with the fluorinating reagent. The inventive fluorinating regent is especially advantageous when used to fluorinate complete motor vehicle tank systems that contain plastic add-on pieces.
