The present invention relates to a process fornproducing a desired polypeptide using rat cells.nSpecifically, the present invention relates to a processnfor producing the polypeptide which comprises culturingnrat cells such as YB2/3HL.P2.G11.16Ag.20 (hereinafternreferred to as YB2/0), preferably rat cells to which anrecombinant DNA comprising DNA encoding a desirednpolypeptide such as an immunologically functional moleculenis introduced, in a medium which does not contain serumn(hereinafter referred to as a serum-free medium). Amongnthe desired polypeptides obtained by the process of thenpresent invention, an antibody obtained by using antransformant of YB2/0 has a high antibody-dependent cell-mediatedncytotoxic activity (hereinafter sometimesnreferred to as ADCC activity) and is useful as anpharmaceutical agent. |
