An economical and industrial method for thendehydrogenation of triisopropyl benzene can be provided byncarrying out the reaction employing a solid catalyst havingnan iron compound and potassium compound as major componentsnor an iron compound, potassium compound, and magnesiumncompound as major components, as a dehydrogenating catalystnfor producing diisopropyl isopropenyl benzene, isopropylndiisopropenyl benzene and/or triisopropenyl benzene fromntriisopropyl benzene. n In the dehydrogenation of triisopropyl benzene orndiisopropyl benzene, by carrying out an off-and-on reactionnin which the above described solid catalyst is employed andnwith which a regeneration period with steam or oxygen or airnis provided, an economical and industrial dehydrogenationnmethod having an extended life of the catalyst can be providednand will have an industrial superiority. |
