abstract |
The invention relates to the utilization of benzazepine-N-acetic acid derivatives which contain an oxogroup in addition to the nitrogen atom in the alpha position and which are substituted in the third position by a 1-(carboxyalkyl)-cyclopentyl-carbonyl-amino radical and to their salts and biolabile esters for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of heart damages caused by cardiotoxic doses of medicaments or chemicals in large mammals and particularly human beings. The invention particularly relates to the prophylaxis and/or treatment of heart damages, especially myocardial damages, which may occur during cytostatic chemotherapy. The invention further relates to the utilization of the above-mentioned benzazepine-N-acetic acid derivatives for adjuvant treatment in therapies in which medicaments with oxidative-toxic side effects are used. The invention additionally relates to the production of medicaments suitable for said prophylaxis and/or treatment or adjuvant treatment. |
