abstract A heat-sensitive recording material formed of a supportnhaving disposed thereon a heat-sensitive color-forming layernthat includes an electron-donating leuco-dye and annelectron-receiving compound, with the heat-sensitive color-formingnlayer including, N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-p-toluenesulfonamidenas the electron-donating leuco-dye. Thenheat-sensitive color-forming layer may include 2-benzyloxynaphthalenenor a combination of 2-benzyloxynaphthalenenand methylolstearic acid amide as ansensitizer, calcite-type precipitated calcium carbonate lightnand/or aluminium hydroxide as an inorganic pigment, polyvinylnalcohol having a degree of saponification of 85 to 99 mol% andna degree of polymerization of from 200 to 2000 as an adhesive,nand 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenyl)butanenand/or 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-cyclohexylphenyl)butanenas an image stabilizer. When thenlayer includes 2-benzyloxynaphthalene and methylolstearicnacid amide, a ratio (x/y) of 2-benzyloxynaphthalene (x) tonmethylolstearic acid amide (y) is preferably 95/5 to 40/60. Thensupport can be essentially waste pulp. The heat-sensitivenrecording material of the present invention may additionallyninclude a protective layer including an inorganic pigment andna water-soluble polymer.
