abstract |
The present invention relates to grass that is infected with angenetically modified fungal endophyte. The endophyte has beenngenetically transformed with a gene and produces elevatednlevels of a plant growth regulator. When grass is infectednwith the transformed endophyte it becomes exposed to thengrowth regulators and responds by altered morphologicalncharacters. Since the endophyte is seed-borne, the novelnphenotype can be maintained and propagated by allowing thenendophyte infected plant to set seed. The seeds can then benused for agricultural or related purposes. |
