abstract |
A method of preserving a recording head whichnincludes an ink flow path by which the ink is suppliednand a discharge port in communication with the ink flownpath to discharge the ink supplied into the ink flownpath; is connected to an ink tank in the recordingnapparatus in such a way to be removably attached to orndetached from the ink tank, to allow the ink to bendischarged from the discharge port; and uses a reactivenink as the recording ink containing a colorant andnreactive component reactive with another ink, comprisesna step of examining discharging conditions of thenrecording head using an ink for examination of ancomposition free of the reactive component, which isnsupplied into the ink flow path, and a step of stepnof preserving the recording head for preservation bynreplacing the ink for examination remaining in the inknflow path in the recording head by an ink fornpreservation containing neither the colorant nornreactive component, after the step of examiningndischarging conditions is over. |
