abstract The tobacco, in leaf or cut form for making cigars or cigarettes, has its nicotine content reduced or completely removed by the action of tannin. The tobacco is steeped in a concentrated infusion of China tea for up to 60 seconds to extract all the nicotine and 30 seconds to remove half, and then pressed. The liquid from the pressing, containing a high proportion of nicotine, could be marketed as a parasiticide.
