abstract | The invention discloses a novel method for the preparation ofnglobular particles of a silicone resin or, in particular, a polyorganosilsesquioxanenresin having properties suitable as an adjuvant in haircarentoiletry preparations by the hydrolysis condensation reaction ofnan organotrialkoxy silane compound such as methyl trimethoxysilanenin an aqueous alkaline medium. Characteristically, the aqueous reactionnmedium is alkalified with ammonia or, preferably, an amine compound,ne.g., mono(n-alkyl) amine compound, to have a specified pHnvalue of 10.0 to 13.0 and the hydrolysis condensation reaction of thenstarting silane compound in the aqueous medium is conducted in thenpresence of metallic ions or, in particular, magnesium ions in a specifiednconcentration of 1 x 10 -5 to 1 x 10 -2 mole/liter. |
