A process for producing hydroxyvitamin D derivatives,ncharacterized by converting a hydrogen atom or atoms at then2-position, 24-position, 25-position and/or 26-position of anvitamin D into a hydroxyl group or groups in a solution containingna microorganism that belongs to the genus Nocardia , Streptomyces ,n Sphingomonas or Amycolata which has an ability to hydroxylatenvitamin Ds or an enzyme produced by that microorganism, andnoptionally under the coexistence of a cyclodextrin; and novelnvitamin D 3 derivatives obtained by that process. |
