The invention relates to a method for producing an ethylenenpolymer, comprising performing polymerization of ethylene innco-presence of hydrogen using a trialkylaluminum compound-carriednchromium catalyst, wherein the chromium catalyst isnobtained by calcination-activating a chromium compound thatnis carried on an inorganic oxide carrier in a non-reducingnatmosphere to convert chromium atoms in the chromiumncompound into hexavalent chromium atoms for at least anportion thereof, and treating with a trialkylaluminumncompound in an inert hydrocarbon solvent to carry thereonnand removing to dry the solvent so that the chromium atomsnare not over-reduced by the trialkylaluminum compound, andnto an ethylene polymer suitable for blow molded articlesnobtained by the production method. The ethylene polymer ofnthe invention have improved environment stress cracknresistance (ESCR) and impact resistance in a good balancenand are suitable for molded blow articles, innparticularlarge size blow molded articles. |
