A "fuel gauge" for a pulse dischargeable alkalinmetal/solid cathode cell is described. The rate ofnvoltage recovery is used to determine the state ofncharge of the cell. Voltage recovery includes recoverynfrom one load to a second, lighter load, or a loadedncondition to OCV. The present invention is particularlynuseful as an end-of-life indicator for a Li/CF x cellnpowering an implantable medical device. |
