High quality images showing an excellent fixationnare formed by an ink-jet recording method using pigmentninks. An ink set for the ink jet-recording methodncomprises a first ink containing an anionic dye in annaqueous medium, a second ink containing an anionic dyenand having a lower coloring material content than thenfirst ink and a dispersion destabilizing substance, andna third ink containing a self-dispersible firstnpigment, a second pigment and a polymeric dispersantnfor dispersing the second pigment in an aqueous medium.nThe dispersion destabilizing substance destabilizes thendispersion stability of at least either the firstnpigment or the second pigment in the third ink when thensecond ink and the third ink are brought into contactnwith each other. The second ink and the third ink arenapplied onto a printing medium one after another ornsubstantially simultaneously so that they are broughtninto contact with each other in a liquid state on thenprinting medium. |
