titleOfInvention CATALYST FOR OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION AND PROCESS FOR OBTAINING OLEFINIC POLYMER
abstract A catalyst for olefin polymerization which comprises (A) a transition metal compound, (B) an oxygenic compound or a compound capable of forming an ionic complex together with the transition metal compound, and (C) a specific compound such as a product of the reaction of triphenylmethyl alcohol with triisobutylaluminum and optionally further contains (D) an alkylating agent; and a process for producing an olefin polymer with the catalyst. The catalyst has heightened catalytic activity and is effective in reducing the amount of a promoter, e.g., an oxygenic compound. An olefin polymer can be efficiently produced at low cost.
