Thenobject of the invention is to provide a process fornproducing deodorizing fibers by imparting excellentndeodorizing property and improved launderabilityn(durability) to natural fibers or synthetic fibers, orntextiles such as underwear formed by weaving or knittingnyarns therefrom. n The process for producing deodorizing fibersnaccording to the present invention comprises treatingnfibers with a treating liquid containing chitosan and/or anmodified chitosan, a carboxylic acid polymer, zinc oxidenand a binder resin. The deodorizing fibers of the presentninvention have a coating layer of a waterproof bindernresin comprising chitosan and/or a modified chitosan, ancarboxylic acid polymer and zinc oxide.
