titleOfInvention | Ebonite coatings for corrosion resistance |
abstract | Mixtures (I) comprise (A) 10-90 wt.% functionalized low mol. wt rubber (B) 1-50 wt.% cross-linking agent (C) 0.01-10 wt.% accelerator/catalyst for the reaction between (A) and (B) (D) 0-60 wt.% reactive diluent (E) 1-50 wt.% vulcanizing agent (F, G)5-50 wt.% filler (F) and additives (G) whereby at least one of (A) and/or (B) has an average functionality of at least 2. Independent claims are included for (i) coatings prepared from the mixtures (I) and applied to a substrate (ii) a process for the coating of substrates by application of the mixture (I) to a substrate whereupon reaction of components (A) and (B) causes an at least three-fold increase in viscosity within 30 minutes followed by vulcanizing the viscous coating by heating to a temperature of 120-160 degrees C. |
