A medical device for detecting motion within tissue by observing a Doppler shift and for creating channels in tissue, the medical device comprising: a flexible elongate member having a proximal end and a distal end; a transducer assembly comprising at least one ultrasonic transducer, said transducer assembly being adapted to generate a source signal and receive a reflected signal, at least a portion of said transducer assembly being located adjacent to said distal end of said elongate member, and and a hole-making assembly located adjacent to said transducer assembly and comprising a needle-like member for puncturing tissue; characterized in that the device includes a distal tip distal to said elongate member and said transducer, said distal tip being for the transmission therethrough of ultrasound. <IMAGE> |
