A polyester resin composition containing, as a resinncomponent, a polyester with its main component formednfrom a polytrimethylene terephthalate and having annintrinsic viscosity of 0.4 to 2, which satisfies thenfollowing conditions (1) to (3):n (1) the polyester resin composition is composed ofna polyester resin component comprising 90% by weight ornmore of a polytrimethylene terephthalate; (2) the polyester resin composition contains 0.01nto 3% by weight of titanium oxide having an averagenparticle size from 0.01 to 2 µm; and (3) the polyester resin composition contains 25 ornless/mg of the resin of agglomerates of titanium oxidenparticles which agglomerates have a lengthwise sizenexceeding 5 µm. n A polytrimethylene terephthalate-based polyesternfiber, having a low frictional coefficient, excellent innwear resistance, and showing a suitable luster and andelustered effect, can be stably spun and drawn bynapplying a melt spinning method to the polyester resinncomposition. In addition, the resin composition isnprepared by forming a 1,3-propanediol ester ofnterephthalic acid and/or its oligomer in the presence ofna fine dispersion of titanium oxide in which thendispersion the agglomerates is controlled and subjectingnthe ester and/or its oligomer to a polycondensationnreaction. |
