A method for producing a male-sterile plant whichnshows normal morphology comparable to the intact plant butnbeing male-sterile. More specifically, a method fornproducing a male-sterile plant characterized by comprisingnligating a first promoter fragment to the upstream of annRNase gene, ligating a second promoter, which is the samenas said first promoter or different therefrom, to thenupstream of an RNase inhibitor protein gene, andntransferring these genes into a plant genome to therebynmake said plant substantially male-sterile. |
