titleOfInvention THERMAL TISSUE TREATMENT APPARATUS
abstract An apparatus for thermal treatment of tissue, includes an outer member having a frame (24) dimensioned for engagement with the hand of a surgeon, an elongated portion (22) connected to the frame, and extending distally therefrom. An electromagnetic probe assembly is releasably mounted to the outer member, that includes a handle (20), and an electromagnetic probe (38) connected to the handle. The electromagnetic probe is at least partially positional within the axial opening of the elongated portion, which is adapted for reciprocal longitudinal movement between non-deployed, and deployed positions. A manually operable release member (52) releasably mounts the electromagnetic probe assembly to the outer member.
