abstract A system for supplying an inhalable aerosol contains a substrate portion (1') and an inhaling device. The substrate portion (1') has at least one heat resistor and contains an aerosol-forming material inside a casing which has an air inlet and an aerosol outlet. The casing of the substrate portion (1') is preferably electroconductive at least in sections and forms the at least one heat resistor. The inhaling device has a housing (50), a receiving device for holding the substrate portion (1') and contacts (55, 57) which are or can be connected to a voltage source (51) for supplying electrical power to the at least one heat resistor of the substrate portion (1').
