HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FROM CELLULOSE DERIVATIVES |
abstract |
A hollow fiber membrane made of a cellulose derivative, wherein the thickness of the membrane is 50 to 500 νm, at least one of the inside and outside surfaces thereof is a minute membrane surface having an average pore diameter of 0.001 to 0.05 νm, an internal portion of the membrane comprises a three dimensional porous network structure having vacant pores of an average pore diameter of 0.05 to 2 νm and cellulose acetate propionate or cellulose acetate butyrate takes account for 70 wt % or more of the material of the membrane. The cellulose derivative hollow fiber membrane has high mechanical strength and is less susceptible to biodegradation. |
