titleOfInvention | Established cells |
abstract | Established cells derived from retinal capillarynendothelial cells, choroid plexus epithelial cells, or brainncapillary endothelial cells or a transgenic animal carrying anlarge T-antigen gene of an SV40 temperature sensitive mutantntsA58. The cell line derived from retinal capillary endothelialncells expresses a temperature sensitive SV40 large T-antigen,nGLUT-1 transporter, and p-glycoprotein. The cell line derivednfrom choroid plexus epithelial cells expresses a temperaturensensitive SV40 large T-antigen gene and shows localization ofnNa + -K + ATPase and GLUT-1 transporter in the cell membrane. Whenncultured in a monolayer, it shows the localization of Na + -K + nATPase in the apical side. The cell line derived from brainncapillary endothelial cells expresses a temperature sensitivenSV40 large T-antigen, GLUT-1 transporter, p-glycoprotein,nalkaline phosphatase, and γ- glutamyltransferase. n A method of establishing immortalized cells bynsubculturing cells obtained from retinal capillary endothelialncells, choroid plexus epithelial cells, or brain capillarynendothelial cells of the above-described transgenic animal.nThese cells are useful in screening drugs regarding safety andnefficacy thereof, and developing method for diagnosing andntreating diseases relating to nutrition metabolism in retinalntissues and brain on cellular level studies. |
