A polycarbonate resin composition which is excellent in both of thermal stability, e.g., hue retention during melt molding such as resistance to yellowing, and moldability including releasability and transferability, and is hence suitable for use in producing optical precision moldings, especially optical disk substrates and lenses. The composition comprises (A) an aromatic polycarbonate and either (B) a cyclic carbonate compound, a monoester compound obtained from a C3-14 divalent aliphatic alcohol and a C12-24 alipthalic monocarboxylic acid, or an ether compound consisting of a C3-14 polyhydric aliphatic alcohol in which at least one of the hydroxyl groups has been replaced with a C1-18 (aliphatic hydrocarbon)oxy group or (C) a partial ester compound obtained from a C2-14 di- to hexahydric aliphatic alcohol and a C12-24 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and either a cyclic phenol compound or a compound selected among hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid, boric acid, and amine salts and ammonium salts of these. |
