titleOfInvention Highly pure polycarbonates and method for producing same
abstract The invention relates to a method for producing polycarbonate having a foreign particle index of less than 2.5 <.> 10<4> mu m<2>/g or containing less than 50 ppb alkaline salt, using the interphase method. According to said method the solution containing the polycarbonate is washed with an aqueous wash liquid, the wash liquid is separated and the solvent evaporated. The method is characterized in that the mixture of organic solvent and remaining wash liquid obtained after separation of the wash liquid is heated until a clear solution is obtained and filtered so as to separate the solids. The above highly pure polycarbonates are used notably for optical data memories, lenses and prisms.
