titleOfInvention | Toner containing resin prepared by a combination of emulsion followed by suspension polymerization |
abstract | A method for preparing a toner resin having a bimodal distributionnof molecular weight is provided for. In order tonreceive an improved toner on a method comprises are thenfollowing steps: na first resin portion is formed by emulsion polymerization ofnat least one monomer; nA second resin portion is formed around the first resinnportion by suspension polymerization of at least one monomer.nAs a result a resin is obtained which has a polydispersity innthe range of 5 to 50. nFurther on a toner composition is provided for comprising anresin as main component. The resin comprises articles containingna first resin portion having a particle size in thenrange of about 50 to about 200 nanometers. The number averagenmolecular weight is in the range of about 10 4 to 10 7 daltons.nThe resin further comprises a second resin portion formednaround the first resin portion. That second resin portion hasna number average molecular weight lower than that of saidnfirst resin portion. The resin has a polydispersity in thenrange 5 to 50. |
