titleOfInvention | Novel polyisocyanate and method for producing the same |
abstract | A novel polyisocyanate which is obtained by reacting at least one diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of aliphatic diisocyanates and alicyclic diisocyanates with a polyol having a number-average molecular weight of 3,000 to 30,000 and containing 2 to 3 hydroxyl groups on the average and which has allophanate bonds and urethane bonds in a specific proportion. The polyisocyanate has a high curing rate and a low viscosity and gives a cured polymer not only having no surface tack and a low tensile modulus but having a high tensile elongation even when containing no plasticizers. It can hence be advantageously used as a sealing material. Also disclosed is a process for effectively and efficiently producing the polyisocyanate giving a cured polymer having a reduced modulus and a heightened tensile elongation. |
