Furnace black (I) has a hydrogen (H) content of over 4000 ppm, determined by CHN analysis, and peak integral ratio less than 1.22, determined by inelastic neutron scattering (INS) of unconjugated H atoms (1250-2000 cm<-1>) to aromatic and graphitic H atoms (1000-1250 cm<-1> and 750-1000 cm<-1>). An Independent claim is also included for the production of (I). |
