titleOfInvention Therapeutic pressing device
abstract A therapeutic pressing device (10) is provided with a pressure unit (55) for pressing the back of the human body and a detecting unit (66) for detecting spinous processes. The detecting unit (66) is provided with a spinous process detecting pressure sensor (23), and can be moved in a plane parallel to the back of the human body as guided by a guiding member (21). The detecting unit (66) is moved along the spine to detect the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra, and then each of the spinous processes of the first to twelfth thoracic vertebrae on the basis of the detected seventh cervical vertebra. A control unit (9) is adapted to store the positions of thoracic vertebrae corresponding to the positions in which the spinous processes are detected. The control unit (9) controls the action of the pressure unit (55) on the basis of the stored position information, and presses a predetermined thoracic vertebra (affected part) by a roller (5). Using this therapeutic device instead of therapeutist's techniques can relieve various kinds of symptoms caused by the injury on a thoracic apophyseal joint.
