Polyester resin for antifouling paint and antifouling paint containing the resin |
abstract |
A polyester resin for an antifouling paint which contains anstructural unit of the formula (I)n nwherein R 1 is H or alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R 2 is H ornmethyl and n is an integer of 0 - 4, in a proportion of not lessnthan 90 mol% and a metal in the main chain at a concentration ofn10 - 300 eq/10 6 g, and which has an acid value of 20 - 1000 eq/10 6 ng. A combined use of the polyester resin with a naturalnantifouling agent affords a paint with extremely less burden onnthe marine environment. |
