abstract |
A rubber composition and a pneumatic tire formed by using thenrubber composition is provided which has excellent snow and icencontrol and braking performance on snowy and/or icy road surfacenand provides a satisfactory wet skid performance. The presentninvention is a rubber composition and pneumatic tire formed usingnthe rubber composition in at least the tread portion thereof, thenrubber composition comprising a 100 parts by weight of rubberncomponent comprising (1) 5 percent by weight to 50 percent by weightnof low molecular weight butadiene rubber (BR) having a cis 1, 4-structurenof 60 mol% to 98 mol% and a weight average molecularnweight (Mw) of 5000 to 80000; and (2) 50 percent by weight to 90npercent by weight of styrene - butadiene rubber (SBR) having a boundnstyrene content of 15 percent by weight to 45 percent by weight andnamount of a vinyl bonding in the butadiene portion of 7 mol% to 60nmol%; and 40 parts by weight to 95 parts by weight of silica. |
