Also, to provide a method for synthesizing thisnnovel silicon-containing aromatic polymer. n Silicon-containing aromatic polymer that characteristically has a weight-averagenmolecular weight no greater than 1,000,000 and a main chain as defined by unitsnof the general formula (F1)n n   wherein A denotes a divalent organic group that contains at least 1 nitrogen atomnand at least 3 six-membered aromatic rings, B denotes C 2 to C 6 alkylene, R 1 ndenotes unsubstituted and halogen-substituted C 1 to C 1 monovalent hydrocarbonngroups that lack aliphatic unsaturation, R 2 is an alkyleneoxyalkylene group or annunsubstituted or alkoxy-substituted C 2 to C 10 divalent hydrocarbon group, thensubscript x is an integer with a value of at least 1, the subscripts y and z are eachnintegers with a value of at least 0, and ( y + z ) is at least 2. nAlso, a method for synthesizing the above-described novel silicon-containing aromaticnpolymer.
