abstract The invention relates to the utilization of extracts from iris plants, cimicifuga racemosa and tectorigenin as an estrogen-like organ-selective medicament for selectively treating and/or for the prophylaxis of cardiovascular diseases, especially arteriolosclerosis, osteoporosis and climacteric symptoms, for example, for preventing or alleviating hot flashes. Virtually no uterotropic effects are observed when using said abstracts.
