A photoelectric conversion device comprising semiconductornparticles sensitized by a metal complex dye represented by the followingngeneral formula (I):n (LL 1 ) m1 (X 1 ) m2 M 1 (BL)M 2 (LL 2 ) m3 (X 2 ) m4 ยท CI nwherein M 1 and M 2 independently represent a metal atom; BL represents anligand having two or more moieties for bidentate or tridentate coordinationnto the metal atoms; LL 1 and LL 2 independently represent a bidentate orntridentate ligand with a particular structure, which coordinates to the metalnatoms via nitrogen atoms; X 1 and X 2 independently represent anmonodentate or bidentate ligand which coordinates to the metal atom via andithiocarbamate group, a thiocyanate group, etc.; m1 and m3 independentlynrepresent 0 or 1; m2 and m4 independently represent an integer of 0 to 4;nand CI represents a counter ion optionally contained to neutralize charge ofnsaid metal complex dye. A photoelectric cell comprising the photoelectricnconversion device is also provided. |
