The present invention discloses a polyester fibernhaving a birefringence of 0.025 or more, comprising atnleast 90% by weight of a poly (trimethylenenterephthalate), on which a finishing agent composednessentially of (1) an aliphatic hydrocarbon ester havingna molecular weight of 300 to 800 and/or a mineral oilnhaving a Redwood viscosity at 30°C of 40 to 500 seconds,n(2) a polyether having a structure containing an ethylenenoxide unit and a propylene oxide unit, (3) a nonionicnsurfactant, and (4) an ionic surfactant in a specificnproportion is applied. n With an application of the specific finishing agent, nprocessability during various steps from the spinningnstep to the processing step, for example, processabilitynduring the spinning and drawing steps, unwinding stepnfrom yarn package, false-twist texturing, weaving, andnknitting processings are drastically improved, thusnobtaining a poly (trimethylene terephthalate havingnexcellent smoothness, abrasion resistance, cohesivenessnand an anti-static electricity property. |
