abstract |
The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for producingnpolyethylene with relatively broad molecular weight distributions. It also relates tonthe catalyst preparation process comprising treating silica having reactive OHngroups with an organomagnesium compound in a solvent ; then adding sequentiallynto said magnesium-containing support SiCl 4 and an alcohol to form an intermediatenwhich is subsequently treated with a transition metal to form a transition metal-containingnintermediate, the catalyst precursor. The catalyst precursor is thennactivated with an organoaluminum compound. |
