abstract | Nucleoside derivatives wherein the hydroxyl groupnat the 2'-position has been replaced by a fluorine atom,netc. and the hydroxyl group at the 3'-position has beenndeoxylated, such as 9-(2,3-dideoxy-2-fluoro-β-D-threo-pentofuranosyl)nadenine (FddA), etc. and thencompounds related thereto can be produced convenientlynand at an advantage industrially from a purine riboside,nby substituting a halogen atom for the 6-position innthe purine riboside, modifying the hydroxyl groups atnthe 3'-and 5'-positions of the sugar moiety thereof withnprotecting groups which can not be deprotectedn(deblocked) under the same condition, furthernintroducing a desired substituent group, such as anfluorine atom, etc. thereinto at the 2'-position of thensugar moiety and then deprotecting (deblocking)-deoxylatingnthe protected hydroxyl group at the 3'-positionnthereof. n Further, processes for producing importantnintermediates usable in the above production and thusnproduced novel intermediates are also provided. |
