abstract A method for producing a catalyst system consisting of a rare earth compound, an aluminium organic compound, another Lewis acid, optionally a conjugated diene and an inert inorganic or organic support material. According to said method, a solution of the rare earth compound in an inert solvent and an optionally conjugated diene and a solution of the aluminium organic compound and the other Lewis acid in an inert solvent are applied in a dosed manner to a dry, preferably agitated support material, preferably in an inert gas atmosphere, whereby the applied solution is absorbed by the support material.
