abstract A nonaqueous electrolyte battery incorporating a case constituted by a laminatenfilm and accommodating a unit cell such that the unit cell is sealed by heat welding;nand electrode terminal leads electrically connected to electrodes which constitute thenunit cell and sandwiched by a heat weld portion so as to be exposed to the outside ofnthe case, wherein the electrode terminal leads are coated with sealant resin at anposition corresponding to the heat weld portion, and at least a portion of the sealantnresin which is in contact with either principal plane of each of the electrode terminalnleads is deformed along the shape of each of the electrode terminal leads so that atnleast the portion of the sealant resin is formed into an uneven shape. To realize thenforegoing state of coating, the heater head is provided with a elastic member when thensealant resin is bonded to the electrode terminal leads. The sealant resin has ansingle-layer structure or a multilayer structure having a central material made of resinnhaving a high melting point.
